This is how the word "JOURNEY" first became part of the whole thing.
(If I get this wrong, Victor, you can certainly correct me)
It was Christmas 2012. A little while before Christmas day, my friend, Victor, and I were having a discussion about how important it is to put on your whole "armor of God" every day from Ephesians 6:13-17 in the Bible. It says: "Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
So we had been talking about that scripture and how important it is to do that. Victor was coming over our house for Christmas Eve. He said he was in a store kind of looking for a gift for us. He saw this picture and saw the word "JOURNEY" on it and thought it was perfect for a couple of reasons...we are on this JOURNEY together in life, and we just happen to go to a church called Journey Community Church in La Mesa, CA
Then when he looked closer at the plaque, he saw in the upper, right-hand corner that scripture that we had been talking about, Ephesians 6:13...."May you be clothed daily in the full armor of our God...." He knew for sure he had to buy it for us!
That picture was the beginning of the numerous times that I have heard the
word "JOURNEY" said to me in crazy ways.
For instance, the first time we went camping with the camper, some girls and I went to Escondido for a SOZO training. The guy next to us at the campsite came outside when we first got there and asked if he could help me. I knew NOTHING about anything to do with the camper!! That man, Lou, hooked up my whole sewer system and didn't even use gloves! THAT is very, very nice. I went over to talk to him and his wife, and at the end of the conversation asked him what he did for a living before he retired. He said he was a pilot for the band, JOURNEY! THAT is crazy!
Another time, I was doing one of my numerous jobs to raise money for my trip. I was kind of complaining to God about it because I didn't really want to do it, and right there on the floor was a piece of paper that said:
God is pretty funny!
So that's how the whole thing started with a SIGN.
And believe me....we are definitely in a spiritual battle and need that armor because after I was done writing all of this the FIRST time, it strangely got erased, BUT thank God for prayer and iCloud because after it was missing from my laptop, I found it on my iPad.
Yay God! Yay iCloud!
This should be quite the interesting JOURNEY, so glad you decided to follow along!
