So Julee and I had the pleasure of "camping out" in the backyard of Gary & Valinda Grimes. They are part of a group called the "Boondockers" just like Robert in an earlier post. Gary & Valinda were amazing hosts! We had such a great time visiting them.
When we arrived, I had to drive through their pasture. Doesn't that just seem like a wonderful thing to do? Drive through a pasture? I thought so.
After driving through the pasture, Gary said those magical words that I just LOVE to hear....."Do you want me to back that up for you?" "YES, Gary! YES, I do!!!" I LOVE those words!!!
So Gary backed up the camper for me (Yay, Gary!!) and Valinda invited us in for Margaritas!! AND she did my laundry. Can it get any better than that???? Margaritas and someone does my laundry. I don't think so!
As we visited with them, it seemed as though we had known them forever. I think there are just kindred spirits out there in this world that we are suppose to connect with, and the Grimes were definitely those people.
Again, people thought I was CRAZY to be "camping" in peoples' backyards that I didn't know. Well, these were people we were suppose to meet on this earth.
We had a great time talking about RVing (they had taken a nine-month trip across the country), and Valinda and Julee hit it off from the get go.
Before I left for the JOURNEY, Julee had brought a book to my house, He Knows Your Name . Julee felt as though three women across the country are suppose to receive the book. Valinda was the first. I'm suppose to read the book, but I haven't yet, so it's going to be totally be up to God to let me know who the other two copies belong to. We've prayed about it, so I'm sure they will go to whom they are suppose to go.
Also, Julee wasn't "scheduled" to join me on the JOURNEY. After she gave me the book, she asked my itinerary. I told her, and she said she was going to pray about whether or not she would be joining me. The next day after praying about it, she got called into work. Because of the hours she worked that day, she was able to afford an airline ticket. It was God's will for her to be on THIS part of the JOURNEY and for her to meet Valinda and name SiSi, the Steer (see my blog - A Steer Without a Name is Just a Steak)
This is a video Julee and I made about our time there and what God was up to while we were there. As you will see, we are NOT professional videographers. There are BLOOPERS.
We also got to go to breakfast with Gary and Valinda to an amazing little restaurant in their town AND drive in their cool convertible. God just keeps blessing and blessing!
Does God care enough to send two crazy girls to Floresville, TX, to tell Valinda that HE knows HER name? We think so.
Thanks, Gary & Valinda! We had a great time. It was so nice to meet you. Blessings!
