Show Me the Money

In order for me to go on this JOURNEY, I needed some money.  I prayed and asked God to please provide some jobs for me, so I could raise enough money for the trip.  Within hours of that prayer, I had received four jobs.

It seems some wonderful people needed some cleaning done at their houses, and wanted to support my JOURNEY

This is John Graham.  He's now become my good friend, and we have a "date" once a month.

This is my mom, Lois.  She was very generous and let me clean her already very clean house.  Thanks, mom :)

This is my neighbor, Jim.  Thanks for your support, Jim.

I also cleaned Jim's yard and painted his chairs...all for the JOURNEY!

My awesome husband, Barry, gave me some vending accounts to do.  Normally, that would NOT have made me very happy, but under the circumstances, it was a great way to raise money!

Barry had suggested I advertise that I could paint the inside of houses for people (I used to have my own decorative painting business). I really didn't want to do that.  A few days after praying to make money, I got a random call from someone who had said they saw my painting I had done at a dentist's office.  She asked if I was interested in painting her kitchen.  I was speechless (I know...hard to believe)  I didn't have to advertise at all.  God had it all figured out.

I went to her house and looked at her kitchen.  As we talked, I told her how I had prayed for ways to make money, and that her phone call was an answered prayer.  We ended up praying for her nephew that was sick.  I had asked her if she wanted to pray, and she held out her hands and said yes.  It was really touching.  I felt like God said, "This is how it's going to be, Lory.  I'm going to take you on the roads of America and have you pray for people and share my love with them."  It was incredible!

Even though I really didn't want to paint, I ended up getting two more painting jobs.  One for my neighbor, Bill.  I painted his house and my mother-in-law Marie's house (they live in a duplex) And another painting job from my friend, Suzie.

This is Bill, my neighbor, who let me paint his house for my JOURNEY, AND he threw me a going away party with my other neighbors, John & Peggy. Thanks, you guys!

This is Peggy

This is my mother-in-law, Marie.  I got to make money painting her place and spend time with her.  Great deal!

I also cleaned for Diana.  She also is an answered prayer (I had prayed that I would not need to get gas for the truck the whole time I was traveling...that my gas tank would stay full).  Diana came to my house the day I was leaving and gave me a debit card and said she wanted to keep filling up the card so I could buy gas with it!  Thank you, God!  Thank you, Diana!

And I painted for my good friend, Suzie!

Okay...I  know this is a lot of blogging for one blog, but there's still more.

I had hired Jeff from Action RV & Auto Detail (858-761-7798) to clean and wax our camper.  As we were talking, I was telling him that I was trying to raise money for my trip.  He said he didn't have anyone to clean the inside of the RVs.  He just cleaned the outside, and that I could clean the inside of the RVs for him.  I was so excited because I LOVE RVs, and I thought it would be great to be able to go inside them even if it meant cleaning them!
Thanks, Jeff :)

This is the first coach I got to clean, and it happened to be the last coach I cleaned when my RV cleaning career came to an end.

This is my boss, Jeff :)

Just a small, little coach....nothing much.

This is Matt. He's an RV chauffeur. All these coaches are coaches he drives for a living.
Thanks, Matt.

One more story...I promise.

Okay...so as I was praying for jobs, I missed my exit on the freeway.  I had to take the next exit.  As I was driving off the freeway, I noticed a sign at a local flower shop that said, "Deliver flowers for Valentine's Day."  I thought what a happy job.  So that was another job I did.  I delivered flowers for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.
This is my friend, Paloma, I met while working there.

Whew!!!  That was a lot of writing and a lot of working and a lot of thanking.

Thanks to everyone for supporting my JOURNEY  and for all that reading!
