So you may have just read the previous post Show Me the Money . That explained ALL the jobs I had to make money for the JOURNEY. I'm not going to lie. It was REALLY hard. I was not always a happy "camper" hahaha...get it..."camper?" I had to do my "regular" life of working for our company, and all the other stuff we have to do in life, plus work these other jobs to raise money.
I had gone to a training course at a church for SOZO (long story for another time). At the end of the training, we went through a " fire tunnel" where people spoke words over you from God. When I first entered the tunnel, a person said to me that God wants you to "RUN AND NOT GROW WEARY." It comes from the scripture in Isaiah 40:31 that says, "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; THEY WILL RUN AND NOT GROW WEARY, they will walk and not be faint."
Well, I really needed to hear that because I was feeling quite WEARY. I held onto that scripture this whole time as things got hard.
There were a few amazing gifts that I received along the way. Some of the time I thought, "Geez, why did I ask God for jobs? I should have just asked for money." hahahaha. But there were too many people I got to meet and spend time with while making that money, so it all worked out and was worth it.
Last January 2012, I had taken an RV class. Yes, an RV class. I know...you're like what in the world is an RV class? Well, it was at an adult school. It was taught by an incredible man named Rob Millum, and it was all about RVs...which ones are right for you; maintenance of them, etc. As I was taking the class, I honestly didn't pay attention when he was talking about travel trailers because I thought, "I'll never own one of them."
Never say never.
My family made fun of me. My friends made fun of me, BUT it sure did pay off in the end. Rob ended up coming with us to buy our RV. He has been in the business for a long time. He checked it out for us and made an incredible offer to the guy selling it, and between Rob and Barry's bargaining skills, we got a GREAT deal on our camper! Also, Rob came over to our shop after we bought it and showed us everything we needed to know about our new camper. And he just happens to go the church JOURNEY Community Church that we do. Of course, JOURNEY. I always hear that word!
And a little while later, I received a package in the mail with Visa gift cards from Rob for my trip! So laugh all you want, family & friends. God had it in His plans for Rob to be part of His plan all along!
My neighbor across the street, Jim, also gave me money that was suppose to go to a new bumper for my car that he installed. He said to keep the money for my JOURNEY.
After telling my Aunt Vicki about my JOURNEY, she gave me money towards my trip.
Thanks, Aunt Vicki & Uncle Tom
My sister, Leigh, doesn't even have money to give, but felt like God told her to send me money, so she gave me money with a note that said, "Lory, God had it on my heart to send this particular check to you for your JOURNEY. He loves you so very much and so do I. The scripture is for you from your heavenly father. Keep it close to your heart. Psalm 32:8 - 'I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will counsel you and watch over you.'"
That is incredible!
You've heard about Diana and giving me an unlimited gas debit card.
If not, read the blog Praying Peeps, Part 2
And before I left, I received a check from my friends, John & Fran.
Thank you!
And the last story I'd like to share is about Julee. She was thinking God doesn't really speak to her. This video proves that He does.
Thanks to everyone who has supported my JOURNEY, and if I've forgotten anyone, I'm sorry. I know I'm thankful...forgetful maybe, but thankful all the same.
